Welcome to the official website of the
Husser Volunteer Fire Department!

The Husser Volunteer Fire Department is a combination volunteer and paid staff department located in Husser, LA in the Parish of Tangipahoa. We have 39 dedicated volunteer firefighters, a primary coverage area extending 360 square miles, and a population of 3,608 according to the 2010 U.S. Census. Our deparment has maintained a Class 5 Protection Rating according to the Property Insurance Association of Louisiana.

For being such a vastly rural area, we serve more than 70 businesses within our protection area ranging from dairy farms and churches to fabrication shops and underwater welding. Amongst these businesses lies the pride of Tangipahoa Parish, Global Wildlife. Global Wildlife is a 900 acre refuge which is home to over 4,000 exotic, endangered, and threatened animals from all over the world, and attracts thousands of visitors each year. With such a popular venue within our protection area, our highways stay quite busy with school buses and small families coming to visit.
